Dr Niraj Kumar Das

Research Associate

Dr Niraj Kumar Das is a Research Associate for the Nuclear Vertical at the Centre for Aerospace Power and Strategic Studies (CAPSS), New Delhi. He holds a PhD and MPhil in International and Area Studies (Diplomacy and Disarmament) from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. At CAPSS his research area focuses on global nuclear non-proliferation challenges. His expertise lies in nuclear governance and strategic competition involving nuclear technologies. His research interests focus on the intersection of international relations, nuclear diplomacy, arms control, and security studies, with a specialisation in U.S.–North Korean nuclear diplomacy, East Asian security, and geopolitics.

Centre for Aerospace Power and Strategic Studies (CAPSS), w.e.f 25th was established in 2001 as an autonomous defence research and analysis body for research and focused analyses on issues related to national security, defence, and aerospace issues in the evolving strategic and international security environment. Its objective is to facilitate greater understanding of these issues amongst the Armed Forces, the strategic community and the public besides contributing to policy generation and decision-making. Centre for Aerospace Power and Strategic Studies (CAPSS) has been rechristened as the Centre for Aerospace Power and Strategic Studies, w.e.f 25th July 2025 reflecting our expanding scope of work in the domain of aerospace power and strategic studies.
